Mulberri Adds Maximeyes to eGPO Supplier Network, Targeting Utility Cost Savings of 15–30% for Private Equity Portfolio Companies

Portfolio Company Procurement

Partnership extends eGPO into electricity, gas, water, telecoms and waste – categories where mid-market portfolio companies routinely overpay and quietly leak EBITDA.

London, 12 May 2026 –
Mulberri, the procurement technology company behind eGPO, today announced a strategic supplier partnership with Maximeyes (UK) Limited, an 18-year-old utility consultancy serving more than 2,000 UK businesses. Under the agreement, Maximeyes joins the eGPO supplier network as the delivery partner for business utilities – covering electricity, gas, water, telecoms and waste contracts across all eGPO portfolio company customers.

The partnership directly addresses one of the most persistent and least-managed sources of EBITDA leakage in mid-market private equity portfolios. Utilities contracts typically auto-renew without challenge, bills go unvalidated, and consumption data sits unused – even though business utilities can represent 3–8% of operating cost in asset-heavy sectors such as manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare and food service.

Maximeyes will deliver category expertise, contract negotiation, bill validation and consumption optimization to portfolio companies sourced through the eGPO platform. Mulberri retains the customer relationship, the spend analytics layer and the integrated procure-to-pay workflow through MulberriPay. Portfolio companies receive a single point of accountability, and access to Maximeyes’ negotiated supplier panel without standing up internal energy procurement capability.

The numbers behind the partnership

Within Mulberri’s customer base, business utilities consistently emerge as one of the highest-yield sourcing categories, with delivered savings typically in the 15–30% range against incumbent contracts. For a portfolio company spending £400K per year on utilities, a 20% saving translates to £80K of recurring EBITDA — and, at an 8× exit multiple, around £640K of additional enterprise value created without operational change, capital expenditure or organizational disruption.

“Value Creation teams and Operating Partners tell us the same thing in every conversation: utilities is the category nobody owns, where spend is rarely competed and optimized. Maximeyes brings category depth and a delivery track record that turns this on its head. Embedding Maximeyes inside eGPO means every portfolio company we work with now gets institutional-grade utilities procurement from day one — without hiring for it.”

Stefan Dent, CEO and Founder, Mulberri

“Private equity portfolios of mid-market businesses consistently overpay on utilities by up to 20%. Contracts auto-renew, bills are often strewn with errors yet go unchallenged, and consumption data is rarely reviewed in detail and acted on.

Embedding Maximeyes inside Mulberri eGPO means private equity-backed companies get access to a specialist solution to deliver and sustain significant cost reduction across all utilities – with savings dropping straight to EBITDA.”

What changes for portfolio companies

eGPO customers will be onboarded onto the utilities category through a structured engagement: a complimentary baseline audit of current contracts and consumption, sourcing events run against Maximeyes’ preferred supplier panel, and ongoing bill validation and consumption monitoring.

For portfolio companies operating multiple sites — common in hospitality, care, restaurant and light-manufacturing portfolios — the engagement also includes meter-level consumption analysis, energy compliance management (ESOS, SECR), and access to Maximeyes’ funded energy efficiency products where the business case supports it.
